TN-McDonald: A Look Back to See WHY the ACA an 8 million Success

Rose Ann Copeland of McDonald writes:

OFA-TN volunteers Joe, Theresa, Brian, Ben, and Pat right after finishing canvassingVolunteers representing all aspects of the diverse Chattanooga community attended a canvassing event on March 28, for the ACA at the South Chattanooga Recreation Center. Chattanooga District 7 City Councilman Chris Anderson rallied the troops by stating that all of his district deserves excellent, affordable healthcare and not just certain parts of American society. Volunteers spread out into nearby neighborhoods and presented residents with ACA information, stressing the the urgency of only 3 days left to apply, and canvassers described locations where Chattanoogans could receive step by step in-person assistance if self-enrolling online wasn’t the resident’s preference. Enthusiasm was strong going through the volunteers to the folks they met while going door to door. A major TV station WDEF-CBS covered this event, which will be broadcast later in the evening getting the main topic out to even more of the community! I felt this was such a worthwhile activity that I hope there will be an extension for the ACA and I will gladly do more canvassing!
